Canadian expat fantastic experience with La Villa Bastille. Quintessential Parisian studio in the heart of the 12th arrondissement village atmosphere. The brief walk from Gare Lyon each week was a pleasure, and the Aligre Market only steps away. Patrick's kind mentorship helped me improve my drawing skills. I loved the friendly vibe and tea break where Patrick's loyal locals share news and travels. Great French immersion! Fortunately, Patrick is fluent in several languages and kindly ensured I understood the conversations. I found Patrick because I was looking for an English-speaking painting class in Paris, but also something that didn't feel tailored for expats or tourists. I was thrilled to be in an environment where I met lovely French people and where it was fine to only speak English (or Swedish, as Patrick speaks that too). Patrick is an exceptionally talented painter with beautiful works, so it's a pleasure to learn from him. I was (and still am!) a beginner and Patrick was understanding and helpful. I am so glad and appreciative to have had the opportunity to experience La Villa Bastille Art Studio Classes. Patrick, the very talented artist was a superb instructor. The style of teaching allowed for our own ideas and creativity while learning many new techniques and enhancements. Patrick is very attentive, patient and so talented. This was not a touristy promotion but a genuine 'off the beaten track' French art studio experience. This is something I look forward to doing again whether it be in the Paris Studio or one of the workshops in a picturesque village elsewhere. I especially enjoyed our coffee (cafe) tea and cookie breaks mingling with the other students, local and international. Thank you again Patrick! This was also well priced at a super value.…

I was planning a trip to Paris, and wanted my wife to enjoy the experience of a lifetime, painting in Paris with an exceptional artist. I contacted Patrick, and found him to be as accommodating and personable as he is a gifted artist. I could write a lengthy review, but the bottom line is that the painting, and the experience with Patrick was more than I could have hoped for. My wife fulfilled a lifelong dream of painting in Paris, and she walked away with great tips for painting with watercolors. Patrick, you are the best. My first experience to get a tutorial lesson overseas especially in Paris France. My husband is very supportive of my hobby in painting...and he is also my number 1 fan. We decided to travel extensively to Europe and Africa, and he suggested that I might wish to get into an adventure of attending some classes in Paris. Upon hearing it, I was so excited. He searched the internet for good instructor and he found Patrick who was so quick to respond to his query. So, we booked and confirmed with him the dates for my lesson. Upon arrival to Paris from Australia, I was so tired and a little bit apprehensive but he was so welcoming and friendly. He made me so comfortable. He was very patient and understanding, unselfish with his expertise by sharing few tips and tricks in pursuing my passion of painting. He encouraged and built the confidence in me that I can be better or best. Now, I am so confident to stroke my brushes on a canvass freely with all my flair. His studio is spacious and with relaxed atmosphere. I was so happy painting while a melancholic music was playing on the background. He foresees that all his students' works are guided accordingly.
