Tour Saint-Jacques is a flamboyant Gothic tower and the only structure that remains of the former 16th-century Church of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Boucherie. During our past visits to Paris it was always in scaffoldings due to its massive restoration, so I was very happy to see it now...More

It looks like a church tower but without a church. Saint-Jacques is a small park with restrooms and a playground for the small kids. There are some benches where you can take a rest after wandering around. The ornaments of the tower is beautiful to...More

It is a nice building and offers nice views. It has a sort of dramatic feel to it as it stands alone in the middle of the park. Looks very nice.

You had better be in good condition because it's up and down a narrow spiral staircase. But if you've got the stamina to do it, the view of Paris is spectacular. I merely showed up at the tower about 9:30 and waited until the ticket...More

Tour Saint-Jacques, or Tower of Saint James, is one of Paris' most underrated monuments. Renovated recently, and opened to the public in 2013, it offers the best views of Paris, better than the Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse, or Montmartre. Not many know that the tower is...More

This tower, not often visited by tourists is quite beautiful. When I see it, I am transported back in time when alchemy was practised. This was also one of the original starting points for pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela on the "Camino deSantiago" or...More

We enjoyed wandering through the park and looking at the tower on our way over to the Centre Pompidou. It is the only remains of an old monastery and abbey. It's quite impressive with lots of gargoyles. The gates were locked so we couldn't go...More

We saw this large unique tower in the Notre Dame area and so naturally had to walk up the street to see what it was. The tower is large and impressive and is surrounded by a little park with benches. The tower, itself, is enclosed...More

Lovely little park to stop and rest aftet walking around the central arrondissements. Plenty of clean benches to sit upon. Hugely tall remains of a church tower (most was reportedly destroyed during the revolution) sits in the centre. Interesting history mixed with some peaceful greenery.

Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris,
Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but
the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it
houses the main shopping mall, which nestles
underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and
international restaurants coupled with beautiful
churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to
it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and
