An old church was torn down by Haussmann to make room for wide boulevards, but he left the church tower, and here it is in the middle of a little square with entrances to the Metro underground. Some benches to sit on, but lots of traffic around.

Too bad I can’t read French, but it looks great!
I’m not doing a background check on this now, my fingers are close to ice… but it looks great!

When we booked this tour we had a feeling it would be in French but we are in France so it was. We understood some of the information and a lovely young French lad gave me a summary of the talking parts so all good there. The main reason for our visit was to check out the view from the top - 300 steps up and it was brilliant - so even if you don’t understand French the view is worth the effort. Maybe the information people could have an English brochure for those keen to attend still speak French but have a brochure - just a thought. Great afternoon really enjoyed ourselves.

Having cycled the way of St. James from the Netherlands to Spain, this (of course) is a special place.

We walked through the park, which was visited by sunbathing people, homeless people, families breast feeding baby’s, drunks and drug addicts. This is a sight that can only happen in Paris ;)

Wandering around this area of the city ,roughly the 4th Arrondissement ,I passed this landmark structure ,although I've viewed it many times on many holidays to Paris it still impresses me.
I just don't love the look of this tower but the history attached to it ,this amazing Gothic tower is all that remains of the once huge Eglise Saint Jacque De La Boucherie ( Church Of Saint James The Butcher ) that was all but destroyed during the French Revolution times in 1797 ,the stunning tower is all that remains standing 52 metres high ,it's such a beautiful and highly photogenic tower to view , I love it ,love the district ,it's most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate Square De La Tour Saint Jacques ,not too far from the River Seine .

The Tour Saint-Jacques is a Gothic monument and is all that is left from the 6th-century Church of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Boucherie which was demolished in 1797 during the French Revolution.

Its of unique architure and of historical significance.

This has been on my bucket list of buildings to climb up in Paris, and finally made it. It hasn't always been easy to access. Just be aware that there are no toilets working in the park and the toilet opposite is shut. It is 300 steps and the views are wonderful. You do all 300 steps down in one hit, so you need to be reasonably fit.
I loved the gargoyles and the views from the top. The gargoyles reminded me of when I went up Notre Came pre fire. Definitely worth doing. Apparently there was an English tour at 2 which I wasn't aware of. I thought the tours were all in French. I did get the gist of it though and there were only 3 of us so nice to do it in a small group.

Locted in the 4th arr, stands this rather impressive, gothic tour, that is actually all that is left of saint Jacques de la Boucher, a 16c church, which was but destroyed during the french revolution, in 1797.

You can't miss this tall tower in this part of town as it is one of the tallest things around. It is all that is left of an ancient church, the remnant of big urban renewal. Nice square around it.
