We got the metro and walked up the street towards the Arc de Triomphe. It's a nice enough street with fancy expensive shops but it's just a street. Not a highlight of Paris by any means.

Lots of shops. Lots of restaurants. If you’re looking for the big chain store shopping experience, you’ll find it here. Equally, if you’re looking for tiny independent shops you’ll find a few. It’s interesting to have a nose around!

Dunno what all the hype is about. It's just another terribly busy street. And you can't properly see the Arc De Triomf unless you stand in the middle of the road.

This area is characterized by its namesake avenue
which extends northwest from the Louvre to the modern
business district, punctuated by the iconic Arc de
Triomphe. Grand embassies stand among impressive
offices and presidential palaces; architecture from
19th century Universal Exhibitions, homes, art
galleries, and 19th century streets designed by Baron
Haussmann flank haute-couture boutiques. This
