At the top of Montmartre you'll find this extremely old church and an ancient small cemetery. The church is not always open.

This church is basically 600 years older than our country. It is a fabulous place to visit. Holy. Sacred. Peaceful. There are candle stations with statues of the saints along the way around the perimeter inside the church. This, for me, was much more deeply...More

Nestled in below the imposing Sacre Coeur and across from the bustling Place de Tertre, this quiet but inspiring little church is often missed by tourists . Dating from the mid-12th century, it is one of the oldest churches in Paris; it boasts some original...More

We were headed towards the grand Basilica and stopped and asked a nice gentleman who appeared to be a groundskeeper for St Pierre, for the best direction to the Basilica. He politely showed us the way and told us if we could stop in St...More

This beautiful old church is well worth a visit if you can make it. Apparently it was damaged during the Revolution and rebuilt, but many portions still seem to be medieval: the overall shape, a reused Roman column, a particular capital, and I think a...More

This is a small church, that is dwarfed by the nearby Sacré-Cœur basilica. The church is only worth a visit before visiting the Sacré-Cœur, because after the visit of the basilica, the church would lose the little charm it has.

Not far at all from Sacre Coeur is this 12th century small church overlooking Paris. Not many come here to visit this humble and charming church.

The oldest cathedral on Montmartre - its building goes back to the 12 century. Very calm and cosy, with nice atmosphere. Long time ago there was an abbey, transformed into the cathedral. Nearby there is a cemetery, where sculptor Pigalle was buried.

Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and
styles which changes from one street to another. Ride
the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the
steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the
Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The
church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano
bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers
thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy
