So shocking and beautiful. It’s a shame it’s not advertised more that it’s there. It’s worth a visit. Heartbreaking though.

I would have to say most people don't have an idea this exists. It is located just behind Notre Dame and well worth the quick walk over. It is a very somber and moving memorial. There was a lot of thought put into the location...More

I stumbled across this sight not by choice (I didn't realise it was there right opposite Notre Dame) but it was mentioned in an audio walking tour I was doing and I nearly walked past it. It draws you in by going down some steps...More

Happened upon this really moving memorial while strolling back to our hotel on the Ile St. Louis from the Latin Quarter. It's basically a concrete bunker that has several different rooms with pin lights denoting how many people were forcibly deported from each of France's...More

While in Paris we walked here and went thru the museum. Very powerful. They also had a nice outdoor setting for speakers and other events that are held there.

This is an excellent memorial / museum, and having it in a redone cave adds to the effect. They had quotes engraved in the wall and that was a nice touch. They covered the various groups that were targeted by the Nazis, the lives they...More

I cannot stay there because I lost my grandparents in WWII. But people should go just like the various Holocaust Museums.

Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
