This is one of the main attractions in the whole country. Just breathtaking. Wonderful architecture in and out. Worth the guided tour but, better still, buy some tickets for the balletconcerts there. A wonder!

Planning to tour the Opera house, especially to see the Chagall ceiling, I saw tickets are on sale for the ballet. What a treat...a grand dame theater, and a full orchestra, with a marvelous ballet. Gorgeous setting and well worth the price of admission.

A while since been there and first time taking a guided tour. The guide was first class, humourous, knowledgeable and friendly. Just a superb building to look around.

This magnificent building,a treasure in itself, both on the outside and inside, was inaugurated in 1875, according to the "Napoleonic Imperial style". It is decorated in combinations of columns and staircases in different colors of marble, large chandelier in the auditorium, mirrors, among others. As...More

Whilst the Palais Garnier is spectacular - they have varying exhibits - the people that frequent this place are so snobbish it makes for a very "heavy" visit (the French would say lourd). I wanted to entitle this "for snobs only". If you are a...More

Every time we come to Paris we go to this venue at least one evening to see the Paris Opera Ballet perform. They excel at classical ballet, as expected, but also contemporary pieces that any non-dance lover would enjoy. The building is gorgeous...come early and...More

The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle
époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades,
and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here,
modern day workers continue to take advantage of the
legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th
century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and
cinemas sit side by side with French bistros
