This time most of the regular Picasso paintings had disappeared from 3 floors to make room for the Guernica exhibit. A feat since Guernica was only present as a photograph. This was most interesting as it documented the times of the Spanish civil war and...More

I found the title "Guernica" of the current temporary exhibition misleading, because actually it´s ABOUT this painting, and there´re more copies on display, but they didn´t get the real one from Madrid. Sad. Otherwise the museum shows the changes in styles well, and has some...More

Lovers of Picasso will enjoy the immense and diverse collection. The building is fitting to the artist. Amazing to see what he collected as well as his own art.

Housed in a beautiful 17th century building, the Picasso museum is outstanding. The current exhibition, Guernica is centred around Picasso's mural sized response to the bombing of the the town of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. The mural and accompanying works depict the horrors...More

Learned a lot about the Spanish revolution, through the Guernica display. Overall a pleasant experience. Really enjoyed level 2. Didn’t find that the audio guide added much context. Overall would rank the Picasso museum in Barcelona much higher in interesting works of art. Hint, there...More

Like many famous artists, Pablo Picasso spent most of his life in Paris and France. Thanks to his stay in Paris, the museum has the largest collection of Picasso's in the world, a lot of them bequeathed by his family to the museum. The collections...More

Guernica temporary exhibition was interesting and well done. Basic collections were not as large as we expected. Of course one of the most important artists in world and many fine paintings. Take a short visit and find out how Nazis and Guernica are linked, it's...More

Nice well designed Picasso museum it is well curated and shows a diverse survey of his oeuvre. It is interesting as a space he inhabited at one point as well. Also interesting is the artists personal collection and how it relates to his work.

No you don't need to make a reservation unless there's an event that has timed reservations, in which case you can do that at the museum and then go to the cafe and have lunch. Check their website for further information.
