What Makes It Special
The precursor to Parisian shopping malls, the Passage des Panoramas is Paris' first covered walkway. With its mix of artisan shops and old-school eateries, it's a great spot to soak in French culture.

Charming place, full of little shops, different styles and merchandises, from old antiques to new contemporary art, all with a hint of history. Worth a visit. The Grevin museum can be accesed from one of these galleries.

This was a very interesting passageway through shops of various sundries. We enjoyed seeing the stuffed fox with wings.

The Oldest of the covered Passages, but I love them all. The panoramas at the entrance have long gone and the tiled floor has worn away in many places, but worth a visit because of the interesting little shops and restaurants. Start with Gallerie Viviane...More

Apparently it's the first covered walkway in Paris, built in 1799. It just oozes this old fashioned charm. It's definitely a popular place and offers a few restaurants and cafes and even hip wine bars. It has somewhat different atmosphere to Passage Jouffroy across the...More

If you are in the area or have already done all the big Paris sights, this is worth a look. But shouldn't be a priority. The architecture is more of a draw than the shops themselves, but we enjoyed window shopping (shops were quite expensive)....More

I recommend that one should visit as many of the covered passages as possible. Each one his its own character and they all capture the quintessential public space in Paris in the early 18th Century. Panoramas has some interesting shops and places to eat and...More

Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle
époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades,

modern day workers continue to take advantage of the
legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th
century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and
cinemas sit side by side with French bistros
