Endless opportunities of biking , hiking, and rock climbing. Hundreds of trails, some still show pavements that are 200 years old.

The road signs warn you of wild boar and deer. As you walk the trails through the forest you keep and eye open even though your mouse probably will scare them off. That said, what a brilliant place to walk, hike and mountain bike. Saw...More

We opted to do the ‘Promenade de l’Erosion’. It was a very hot day, but there was plenty of shade. The signalisation was poor, we met young families who were also finding it difficult to find the right path. The views were well worth the...More

The forest is quite large and offers plenty of opportunity to follow paths that will take you away from people and the city into a natural environment. Plus the forest is famous, so how can you go to Fontainebleau without sampling the Forest?

Ran several times in the forest. Started from Hotel Ermitage. Got lost! Managed to find my way. Names of paths are on trees at crossroads. Also try the 2 km sporting track. It’s a good challenge.

It might not have the dramatic backdrops of the Buttermilks or the sense of adventure that accompanies a trip to Rocklands, but Font will always be synonymous with bouldering, and its ease of access from just about anywhere in Europe means that it will always...More

We parked in Barbizon and walked the road out of town to the forest. From there we walked 40 minutes into the woods--it was lovely and peaceful. It was a holiday but it was not crowded at all. We saw some rock climbers and watched...More

I love this forest. It is large, very natural, peaceful. The birds sing a lot. We come here for bouldering, but I like that there are people of all ages enjoying it. There are families, couples, friends going for a hike, run, climbing or just...More

After a tough day nice to relax. Very beautiful and lots of space to ponder. Make sure you have a map as it is massive

This might be my favorite place to boulder. It is a rock climbers playground. Try to make and effort to visit this place at least once in your climbing career, it is worth the trip. So many easy, moderates and hard stuff all in one...More

Sneakers would be fine, the forest is quite flat and the terrain is sandy, not rocky or difficult to walk on. It's walkable in flip flops!
