This was a great spot to visit. It offered a view of amazing French military architecture as well as numerous museums of French history. The Resistance museum covered both the French resistance pre WWI as the war itself from a French perspective. Very well done....More

The citadelle is amazing on its own, but surprises with the zoo, the insectary, and the noctarium. I especially appreciated the Resistance museum.

It was a nice sunny day. The kids liked a l lot the little zoo, the aquarium, the reptiles the little insects. The adults liked the ww2 museum. Well worth it the money we spent. Calculate at least 2 hours.

Very interesting visit with audiovisual assistance. Explanation on the genious fortress builder Vaugan, working for Louis 14. Super views on Besançon. Take the bus to go up the mountain.

High above the city, the citadel is built to protect the people in the ancient times. In different languages, in a multimedia tour, you can walk around and see (and listen to) the history of the town and the building. Innovative man, those Vauban! There's...More
