I must say that visiting this place in the municipality of Tours was more interesting than I thought. The person who was our Guide (who was the city's public relations officer) in good English introduced us to the historical monument in an appropriate and competent way demonstrating both artistic and administrative competence, managing to make us understand the sense of the state that in France is much stronger and rooted than in Italy.
The party room is really impressive for the splendor of the decorations.

A circular plaza with a magnificent fountain in the center is located in front of a majestic building of Hotel de Ville de Tours. Designed by the Tourangeau architect Victor Laloux in the 19th century. Located not too far from central TI (walking distance 5 minutes). Beautiful building and surrounded plaza, must see in Tours. On the left corner, across the street, we found my husband's favorite menswear store - a french designer of Armand Thiery. Shopping was also good.

A common characteristic for all France cities, towns and villages is a very beautiful Hotel de Ville - the City Hall.
It's an architectural masterpiece so easy to recognize and make a few pics. That's also the case here in Tours center.

Hotel de Ville de Tours is a magnificent building. It must be one of the most attractive in the whole of the city of Tours. We saw it on our first day in Tours. The architecture is absolutely superb. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Contrary to what it appears, the city hall is located here and not a hotel. It is the most beautiful city hall I have ever known!

Outside is a building that you wonder - who paid for that? but you realize everyone contributed. Sculptures are super.Salle de Mariage is beautiful, concert hall or exhibition hall is great, city council room is so well decorated but getting in if it is not Journee de Patrimoine, forget it. Too bad, too, as it is a gem but hidden...

I'm just blown away by the structure and beauty of Tours on a whole. Walking down rue nationale waiting to cross I stumbled upon this wonderful sight. A must see!

Hotel de Ville de Tours (or Tours City Hall) is located near the center of Tours across the street from the Square Place Jean-Jaures in one direction and the Palace of Justice in another direction. It is also very close to the Tours train station. It was designed by architect Victor Laloux between 1896-1904, the same individual that designed the Gare d'Orsay in Paris (now the Musée d'Orsay).
I visited this City Hall with my wife in late October and thought the building was very impressive. Our hotel was about 100 feet from this building so we went by it several times. Even though I only saw it from the outside I thought the architecture was awesome and a piece of art. The clock near the top is pretty interesting and is surrounded by some impressive sculptures. It looks like a palace or chateau but is a government building.
Overall I was impressed with this well preserved building and recommend that you take the time to visit it if you are in Tours. It is especially impressive to visit at night when it is all lit up.

This is one of the largest and grandest buildings in town and worth a quick visit. It's the home of the official functions of the city, an architectural style that is of the Renaissance.

I am trying to secure a tour for the Hotel de Ville. Can someone please let us know how I can do this? Thank you in advance! We'll be in Paris first week in March.

Hi, TreesrgreenDoncaster. What would you like to know about this attraction?
Is this chateau accessible by electric scooter, as I am disabled

The chateau at Tours is accessible from the road via a gravel approach from inside the gates. The castle itself is now an art gallery inside, where they joined the remains together, so outside the best view of the original towers is from the street or garden. Inside the gates, there is an information board on the gravel but there is an area of grass and trees too, nice in the summer. Watch out for the nearby plaque on the wall about Joan of Arc. Enjoy
