Our first evening in Rennes was not a good experience, we got lost whilst seeking an ATM (very hard to find) and walked through this deserted area feeling a little nervous. Perhaps lively in the height of summer but avoid on a dark autumn night.

Perhaps it was because nothing was going on but this was just a large concrete area devoid of vegetation when we were there so would use it only to transverse the area.

If you are keen on french modern architecture, this is your place. Large scale place with building which you either like or hate.

Basically a city center area with some shops & key buildings, but nothing of a real draw for toutists, IMO. We were told that it's nicely decorated for festivals and at holiday times, but saw none of that. Other more interesting sites nearby ....
