We pulled off the road here when returning to Sarlat after buying our tickets for Font du Gaume to take photos, then decided we had enough time to go in and explore. It is a nice walk through the site which has various models representing...More

Our 2 year old child absolutely loved it. Lots of model animals for him to try to find. Very interesting walk, great to see real animals at the end. 8€ per adult - very good value for money. Staff not so welcoming!

A good introduction to prehistoric life and how troglodytes lived. Receptionist very helpful. The only negative I would say was that it was not a good idea to have live animals on the site.

I love history and have read a lot about prehistoric times. This exhibit brought it all to life. Then showed how the caves were used in medieval times and were still lived in until 1950's.

My husband and I enjoyed our trip to the slightly" Dysneyfied" prehistoric caves. It cave a fascinating insight of the lives of the early cave dwellers. We wished that we had had our grandchildren with us

We just happened to stop here and popped in for a visit. It was superb. The kids were enthralled and avidly read all the literature available.

The walk recreates what cave and medieval occupation of the caves might have looked like, and is particularly helpful for kids to visualise - and is really quite sweet, with lots of interesting details and animals to spot. The caves themselves are magnificent, and the...More

You follow a walkway around the caves and old dwellings. Starting off with neolithic man (who according to the mannequins were had no shortage of food for the ice age) you learn about how man lived. Yes it is a bit naff in places but...More
