The largest square in the city of Strasbourg can be found on Grand Ile (Great Island), which represents historical and commercial centre of Strasbourg. This city square is named after Jean-Baptiste Kleber, born in Strasbourg in 1753, who was French general during French revolutionary wars....More

Well it's a huge place in the center of Strasbourg, surrounded by century old houses, however, I prefer the smaller and more romantic places the city has to offer.

There are so many lovely places in Strasbourg. I guess this is one of the most famous but not my favourite. It's a large square surrounded by not so quaint shops (including a multi-story electronics store, a Starbucks, McDonalds). You get the idea. Worth dropping...More

A really big square surrounded by expensive shops and places to eat. A train runs through it so is easily accessible. Wouldn't rate it high on my places to visit in the area.

Place Kléber is the main and most popular square of the city. It’s a pleasant and open space bordered on its northern side by L’Aubette, a large and splendid palace built in the classic style.

In the middle is the statue of General Kleber. On one side of the square the Aubette building built completely of pink sandstone. A nice moder fountain is in front of it.

On a super warm and sunny day it´s a delight to put your feet to the fountain. Get some coffee and just sit down.

I found this square slightly seedy - a meeting place for druggies. There was a nice modern fountain but not really much else. It was also surrounded by American venues (Starbucks, MacDonalds) and was certainly far from being a quaint French square. The two or...More

Still in the historic centre of the city, this square provides the walker by with some more breathing space, which sometimes seems a bit scarce throughout the city. I am not sure if it hosts anything historically relevant: I just found it likeable for itself...More
