The collection is quite interesting but I found that the explanations were lacking. You want to know more and you can't. But then I went during the "Journées du Patrimoine" so maybe audio-tours were not available under such circumstances.
This museum gives a good overview of the archaeology of the region from the Mesolithic to the Roman era. Combine this museum with a visit to the Musee historique de la Ville de Strasbourg and the Musee Alsacien to get a sense of the earliest...More
Nice collection of artifacts collected over the years from excavations in the area surrounding the cathedral and greater Alsace.
English translations however can be lacking. There are general translations, but many of the detailed descriptions or information on individual items were missing during my visit.
This museum is inside the Mohan palace and is fairly large display of archeology artifacts and displays dating back to prehistoric times through to iron age and to the middle ages. There are free leaflets in English available to help you pick out the highlights....More
