Indeed, it xannot be compared to the one in Prague, but it is unique in its way and beautiful to look at. It is currently being renovated. Please ask a guide or a local to explain its meaning so you don't judge it by its...More

When it comes to ancient clocks, I would put Rouen's Gros Orloge and the Astronomical Clock in Prague at the top of the list in terms of interest, fascination and physical beauty. In the middle, I would put Vienna's Ankeruhr clock in the Hoher Markt...More

The clock is being renovated at present so has scaffolding over it. It is still working so you can watch it, just will be better to visit once the restoration is complete.

Be sure to see this in the cathedral. Pay the extra fee and be there on the hour. Photos allowed. If you go, go early to avoid the crowds.

Unless you have pre-booked, you have to queue. Then, unless you are tall you can see little over other's heads. When the clock 'strikes' it is very underwhelming. You can see it at non-striking times just by visiting the cathedral - muchbetter!

This is a hard one to review because even though I would have trouble recommending it, I do not regret going to the 12:30pm showing. The clock is a scientific marvel and it was really interesting to learn about it. However, the whole experience was...More
