We have been visiting live music venues for over forty years, last night was absolutely dreadful, the bar staff just couldn't cope with the demand, people coming in late, one person in front eating a takeaway, not challenged by staff, this is my type of music but they got it totally wrong on every level, poor vocals wrong people singing the wrong songs, it just didn't work,so much so we left at the interval, this is the first time we have ever done this, total disappointment!!!

First up I must say this show, Chicago Blues Brothers was absolutely amazing, however the hospitality was absolutely atrocious, no beer taps working, interval drinks didn't appear, nobody knew how to change a keg, I asked to speak to the duty manager to see if he could help sort the issues out, didn't happen, people were getting very frustrated and angry, also so many people recording the show really was distracting, please sort out these issues as customers will not keep accepting we are short staffed as a reason.

Outstanding performance particularly by Wishy-washy who carried the show and kept it moving forward. All performers were excellent however. I was happily surprised by the venue, decorations, facilities and ease of parking.

Not to be missed.

Just got back from the Christmas Eve performance of Aladdin at ThePlace, Oakengates and it was a fabulous experience. The whole cast were brilliant and were obviously enjoying the panto too. Widow Twanky and Wishy Washy were outstanding. It was a laugh a minute and would rival any panto anywhere in the country. We were three generations of the family and everyone enjoyed it. There were no “famous faces” in the cast but they were all stars in their own right. If you want to forget everything go and have some fun at Oakengates.

Just need to make people aware of this theatre.
It has NO COVID-19 restrictions.
I previously went to a Theatre in Stoke and we had to do a test 48 hrs before the show. Also had to show our Covid pass or be refused entry and everyone to wear masks..Theatre not full.
But THE PLACE, well, no testing, no pass and definitely no masks..
We were crammed in like cattle.
I now have COVID-19..Only place in the last week that I went.

Only plus..the show was great..but not worth getting ill for 😷🤒😥

First up I love this theatre, unfortunately a few niggles are happening, attended You win again, three people in front of us were filming the performance staff were on hand but until I brought it to there notice just ignored it, it really is off putting having people's phones distracting from the performance, secondly love the new safety glasses, however a group of four were dancing in the aisle with the required glasses but had a bottle of wine in one hand, please can you be more vigilant for the enjoyment and safety of others.

For the second year we travelled 150 miles to go with the grandchildren to see Jack and the Beanstalk at the Place. Noisy, raucous, and eldest grand daughter was nearly hoarse by the end of it with all the shouting. We go on her birthday so it is guaranteed to be a noisy affair. You either join in or get wet, or join in and still get wet.

Great pantos here, traditional, loads of audience participation, better than our local one down South. We will be back next year.

Two hour show.
