Stopped off here on a trip with the Colchester Archaeological Trust last year and it was very good. Certainly worth calling in.

A very small English Heritage site ( only two rooms). Nonetheless, very interesting with attentive, enthusiastic guides. Well worth a visit.

This is well worth a visit as the wall paintings (a secco) show a range of characters and events illustrating the lives of our medieval ancestors. The guide for the tower is well produced and a visit to the place is a gem not to...More

A fantastic survival of ancient wall paintings in a domestic setting, inevitably there have been some losses over the years; only one king from the "three living and three dead" remains but this should not detract from the overall experience which quite rightly concentrates on...More

Don't plan this as a day trip but as a very interesting part of a day out. We parked out on the main road which isn't that busy and walked the 100 yards to the tower. £3 per adult and £4 for a guide book...More
