En route across Ireland we stumbled upon the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre at Oldridge. Gerry the Guide was an encylopedia of knowledge and would definitely be my "phone a friend" on who wants to be a millionaire!. He patiently talked us through the...More

This so-called attraction is a joke. It is truly a waste of time. It is an insult to a very important piece of Irish history and tells you very little. The 'exhibits' comprise posters stuck on the wall giving a few, very shallow, bits of...More

Visited here with my husband and two young children and thoroughly enjoyed walking about the beautiful grounds. They are well cared for yet there are plenty of areas that are not over-manicured and lend themselves nicely to a family walk. The walled gardens are beautiful...More

Important part of Irish, as well as European history. Presented in a videos and displays in period areas of the old house. Beautiful formal gardens. We sat at a table outside the cafe overlooking the gardens for a late lunch in the sunshine. The resident...More

For such an historic battle this is a good way to understand the battle itself. The political background is briefly stated, leading to the understanding that the Protestant and Catholic divide was well established in 1690. There is a brief referral to modern peace efforts,...More

Have been before but continue to learn. The exhibition is quite small though the two short films perfectly educate you on the battle. The entrance is 5 euro but if you're strapped for cash the walled gardens and walks in the grounds are free. The...More

My husband and I toured the grounds and the visitor centre and it was very nice. The small fee to enter the visitor centre was well worth the money as the sight is so well-kept. Definitely a great way to spend an hour or two...More

One of my favorite places to have coffee . Beautiful gardens and outside area to sit if the weather is nice. Scones and coffee are just perfect and the resident cats are so cute

While we really enjoyed the Battle of Boyne exhibition we didn't enjoy the cafe. The food is expensive and certainly not value for money. The staff are not helpful and the coffee mediocre.
