Definitely go for the guided tour! If you just see the castle grounds from the outside (free) you will miss the real thing. Outside it is only office buildings, no actual castle atmosphere because there is no park surrounding it and the only castle-like building...More

First of all, it is a splendid beautiful building and so important to Irish history. I was the the week of the Cenntenial week of the Easter Uprising , April 2016, and so many people reflecting on that time.

Dublin Castle has lockers for backpacks, but we cannot accommodate anything that will not fit - small cabin-sized suitcases are usuall okay.
