Unfortunately I could not gain access to the interior of this magnificent church as it was closed for the day by the time I arrived. I will try again at some later date.

The early Gothic church of St Vincent's was designed by Sir John Benson and it is built mainly of red sandstone. It has a spectacular appearance when viewed from the Mardyke as it is built on a rocky outcrop of Sunday's Well.

If you are in Cork you should visit but be aware that it is not well served by public transport so be prepared for an uphill walk.

Beautiful church in a very nice area of Cork City. It's grounds overlook the famous Mardyke. Inside the Church is very atmospheric as a result of the generations who have worshipped there. It's layout is definitely 19th. Century. Whatever your reason it is well worth a visit.
