Perched above Pitlochry the walk only gets steep right at the top but the views are breathtaking. The area round the mountain offers many different ways of getting back to town. There is limited parking near the start of the walk out of town so...More

This is the second time we have climbed Ben Vrackie the first was 10 years ago, and it was just as pleasant this time around, for a couple of mid 70ers. The views are terrific, with good walking paths. If you visit Pitlochry and have't...More

We stayed in the town of Pitlochry, so each day we traveled to the surrounding countryside. This is truly a beautiful mountain area of middle Scotland. Lot's of chance for hiking and sight-seeing. Should take at least 2 days in the area.

Great climb uo Ben Vrackie today with my hubby and 2 kids aged 10 and 13. A bit steep at some parts, but a great climb. Very enjoyable. Lovely views too. Easy enough to find and no charge for car park

Really nice day hike from downtown. Well-signposted and well-maintained. Only thing it’s missing is a Hütte at the top serving fresh pints to take in the view.

its a terrible climb plagued by midges all the way up and no view what were the scots thinking of when they construed this one? t the top due to the dull Scottish weather that predominates. Its a crippler on the knees and will take...More

Public transport to pitlochry but I think you’d have to walk up to moulin and then to the Ben y vrackie car park from there. Sorry but I do not know if pitlochry has any town service buses. I wouldn’t think the walk up would... More
