Wish I'd read some reviews first. The walk straight up the hill from the car park would have been enough, we could have seen the WW2 ruins and gone back. But, oh no, my husband wanted to do the circular walk, which starts out nice...More

There is a lovely walk to the head from the sadly closed tea rooms. It was a glorious day when we did the walk and we followed the cliff path looking over hoxa sound passing reminders of the war. Arriving at the end we stopped...More

Stunning views at this significant WW1/2 site... so that alone repeats the journey via vehicle and foot, but the signage about the site could be better.

Visiting the WW1 and WW2 look out posts. Well worth the walk up the hill and over to the cliff edges. Allow a couple of hours to walk around and see the derelict site. Nice views across the bay also. There is a small tea...More

There are some amazing remnant gun emplacements to see along this cliff-top walk and also some great views. However, what is advertised as a circular walk no longer appears to be so as there is now a perimeter fence all around and the path the...More

Fabulous circular walk not too hard but breath-taking view over Flotta Island. Some part goes through cliff top where we saw the Pentland Ferry very closely. Plenty rooms for cars to park. The tea room and the tapestry gallery are perfectly positioned so we could...More
