When we stopped it was closed but the walk around the grounds was nice. The best photos we took were from the cafe and rest area about a half mile down the road.

We visited this castle after seeing pictures of it. The inside is just and beautiful as the outside. Ancestors have fully restore this home in the early 20th century. Beautiful inside and out.

Busy as expected with tourists but didn't affect our visit. Lovely setting/location and a hit with photographers amateur or otherwise! No problem parking even though it was busy. Gift shop and café were pretty standard and expensive. Didn't get our bags searched although website states...More

The castle itself got very crowded but the talks from the guides were very good. We saw all that we wanted and I do not think we missed anything. The WW1 room and display ws very poignant.

Prepare to be overrun by tourists if you visit here during peak season (June-August). It is a beautifully restored castle, conveniently on your way to or from the Isle of Skye. If you don't mind crowds, visit any time, however if you'd like a better...More

The castle is wonderful to look at from the outside but once inside it was so crowded it was impossible to see the contents within. I spent most of my time shuffling round people to look at different things and having to wait to go...More

Stunning scenery and a must if your up the highlands heading to Skye. And nearby Dornie is worth a visit as well especially the local baker.

Most crowded castle I encountered. The setting is beautiful. Although it's not authentic, the castle is worth visiting. Large cafe and shop on the premises.

No, it is a good half hour drive from the station in Kyle of Lochalsh. The best I can suggest is that you speak to one of the local private hire firms who run a taxi service and check out how much it might cost you. You... More
