The West End is the place to visit when in Glasgow - lots of bars, restaurants and shops - it's near the university and has lots of good links to the city centre although that's not a long walk

I have often frequented the West End of Glasgow. You can't go wrong visiting this area. Great pubs, restaurants and you'll get a true sense of the locals.

Very nice neighbourhood with the botanical gardens, perfect for the good weather. Also don’t miss Oran Mor, specially a Play, a Pint and a Pie, a very Glaswegian experience!

An upmarket area to visit. Be it museums, restaurants or a good night out - this is the place. Very cosmopolitan with a really good feel about it. Enjoyed by students and fairly trendy.

Ashton lane has some decent pubs but overall i'd stick to Buchanan area for a night on the piss. West End of more of a place for hipsters.

Vibrant area, great pubs and restaurants and the subway makes it so easy to get to Glasgow City Centre and beyond. Lovely walks in the Botanical Gardens.

Having lived in the West end since 1971 till 1990 its my favourite part of Glasgow the shops are interesting. The oxfam book shop is very good. The Botanical Gardens are wonderful. The University museum is a must visit. Also kelvingrove park and museum.
