Use the green buses with the live guides is more interesting than the red with pre recorded tour but you can use either to get around. I suggest staying on the 75 min whole tour to see what you want to go back to later.

We got this whilst in Edinburgh for just 5 hours and the weather was too cold and windy for walking around. Ideal. The live guides were excellent (we got on 3 buses) and each were informative and funny. Each full tour took around 75 minutes...More

This was a very good hop-on hop-off tour. We took the green tour which had a live guide. She was very informative! We saw lots of sights. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience with the hop-on-hop-off buses in Edinburgh. Without exception, we found the drivers pleasant and helpful (and we observed a couple of instances where tourists were rude to the drivers). The recorded guide gave us a real taste for the history...More

Edinburgh is a busy city with lots of road work going on now (May 2018). Getting around can be difficult for seniors. We took the bus tour and saw the significant sites with excellent live narration.
