The area
Address
Neighborhood: Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.

Incredible views and good fun
Really fun! Very covid conscious and ample hand sanitiser available. The views are incredible and would recommend for those alone.

Even better than expected
Nov 2021 • Friends
Ever since I’d seen a tv programme about the Camera Obscura I wanted to visit. Knowing it used old fashioned technology for it’s fabulous 360 views of the city, I didnt expect all the additional modern attractions, which were both fun and educational about light, colour, electricity, optical illusions, and more. Having said that, the entrance fee demanded more than just a quick visit, but we spent a happy 2 hours plus there for £18 which I thought was okay value. Great photography opportunities from the top, if you have the weather.

Plenty to see and do in there, I went with my wife, but kids will love this too. Like a fun science museum. Helpful and friendly staff, who sorted an issue we had with getting there on time. 6 floors of amazing activities, does NOT get boring. Beautiful views and you learn as well as have fun. Thanks

Stunning rooftop
Nov 2021 • Couples
Really enjoyed this trip. It was a fun couple of hours with some really cool illusions. The roof top view was stunning and although it was later and dark when we went it was really good. Not too expensive. Would recommend to friends.

100% WORTH IT+ BREATHTAKING VIEWS
Had a fun time. They say they have the best view of Edinburgh and ITS TRUE, from the rooftop the views were breathtaking! I was in Edinburgh just for the day and could only visit the castle and World of Illusions, 100% worth it! I also enjoyed the Vortex and after bought fun customised souvenirs in the gift shop

It's ok
Would I go again..... probably not. To be honest for the price you pay, would I say its worth it, not really.

I don't like being negative and there is some great items in here but I wasn't blown away and found it a little boring. The staff on the offer hand are brilliant.

If the price was lower, then maybe I might of though different.
