We joined the 3day explorer tour of the Highlands and Skye leaving from Edinburgh on 11th October. The coach was modern and comfortable and small enough to safely negotiate the minor roads of Skye. our accommodation was The Skye Inn in the pretty town of Portree, a cosy hostelry with very comfortable beds and good food and throughout the trip we were treated to endless vistas of glens, lochs, rugged mountains and seascapes all decked in the rich colours of Autumn. Scotland at its best! The highlight of the tour was a trip on the Hogwarts Express from Mallaig to Fort William taking me back 70 odd years to my first steam train to the Highlands. A memorable experience. Special mention and thanks must go to our musical driver/guide Scott who entertained us with an endless supply of tales of Scotland's history and folklore accompanied with song and sound effects. It was awesome how he managed to keep up his storytelling while negotiating the very narrow single track twisty roads of Skye.

I was dreading the tour as I’d booked it for my husband as a surprise during our first trip to Edinburgh. I just don’t do busses and as it’s 12.5 hours it total, was not looking forward to it! I can honestly say the bus journey was better than Loch Ness. Our driver, Scott, was absolutely amazing. He told us do many things about Scotland and it’s history and even sang a few songs. He hard a time as there were only 9 of us on the coach and they were all very quiet (except me!). We were so impressed with the wealth of knowledge he had not only about the history, but the ecology. The day just flew by. We stopped in 2 lovely villages and also had a few photo ops on the way. Loch Ness cruise was fun, and found out that Nessie is most probably a giant sturgeon. (The husband was upset). I can highly recommend this tour as the hours on the bus just flew by because of Scott. I also get travel sick but wasn’t ill at all. Scotland also has fantastic network and 5G coverage, even on the Highlands!! Well done boyo bach, you made our trip. Thank you. Xx

While I do not typically complain this was the worst “tour” I had in Scotland. There were a couple photos stops but basically just a shuttle to Malliag to catch the Jacobite Steam Train. The “guide” was not very professional and frankly just made stuff up along the way. He mocked safety both COVID and general such as seatbelt usage and did not enforce either. It was extremely overpriced. I would not take another tour with the company based on this tour. I rated it average based on the Jacobite steam train.

We were on the tour a week ago today. The scenery was breathtaking!!! Speechless at times. The tour was well organised and highly professional with all “comforts” considered. Our tour guide was amazing, very knowledgable and passionate about his homeland. A pure joy for someone who was anxious about a “coach trip”!
