A visit to the centre, the museum, his house and his mausoleum gives you a great insight into the man and his times - highly recommended.

This needs a good shake-up. It needs to capture in signage, explanation, audio the romance, the devilry, the genius of Burns. This is locked into 1950s curating. The staff care but are poorly trained.

I was a bit disappointed as the once fabulous restaurant has now closed. The exhibits are upstairs and are all in one room. There is a timeline of Burns life and a model of Dumfries as it was in his lifetime. Some interesting personal items...More

Free admission. Display looked a little old as it was very word-heavy. A lot of objects were missing for conservation, with notes saying they hoped to have them back 'in May' - not sure if they'd missed the 2018 deadline or the conservation team were...More

Visited the museum - being refurbished so not a great deal to see. Very friendly staff. Didn't realise there was a good little cinema too but they do mainstream and arthouse stuff - a welcome find and pretty comfortable.

Visited the Burns cinema last week to see the film, The Book Club. The film was very good and my wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately the Cinema was far too warm for me! It wasn’t even hot outside but I needed to go...More

Nice little Film Theatre on the banks of the River Nith, It shows films old and new, you can even book for a kids party, an adults party or have a private screening of what ever film you want to bring.
