Kids enjoyed this mini walk so did our pups. Plenty wildlife & fab mini waterfall. Can’t wait to go back in summer for a wee picnic.

It's a fine place to walk your dog if you live next door. To praise it as a destination to go for the experience and a "Nature reserve" is really to oversell it. I'm all for having green breathing holes in the surburbs as habitats for birds and creatures, but there are so many spectacular places to go in and around Aberdeen. This one was not worth the drive and I only live 15 mins away.

I stay not far from here and take the dog through everyday, there are various routes to take and lots of wildlife to look for including a very tranquil pond filled with ducks. Very peaceful in the evening although only problem is the new house builds have taken the aesthetic pleasure away from the area! Overall a decent place to be in any weather.

Den of Maidencraig is a nature reserve on the western edge of Aberdeen just off the B9119 near the Crematorium. It is a mix of grassland, wetland and woodland with defined paths and a free car park. Popular with dog walkers, it has some nice paths, although some of the views are now new house building along the Lang Stracht. The best walks are to the left of the car park.
