We only had a chance for a quick peek at this monument, but one can truly appreciate what it stands for. The Peace Flame is protected in a simple, but lovely monument with paths and landscaping around and the Peace Bridge visible in the background....More

This flame has been going for a long time now.. Unbelievely it was snatched by vandals but is now restored and glowing. A sign of hoe for Derry.

This spot too is a must when in Derry. There is nothing better than a message of peace and hope even if it is hard to obtain. Worth it.

Derry's Peace Flame is located in a small and tidy park near the Guildhall and close to the Peace Bridge. The flame was lit by Martin Luther King III, and the place is important symbolically as representing a decent future for the city, free from...More

It's nice but not really overwhelming with the heavy traffic hurtling by. Take a look at the paving stones with writing on them

And next to the Guildhall. It was lit by children of Derry on both sides of the Troubles in 2013. The key speaker at its lighting was Martin Luther King III. It's only one of 15 eternal flames around the world. Worth seeing and remembering.

Set in a little seated area - this small but significant focal point - sadly on the day we visited the glass cabinet had been shattered and the flame extinguished

This is a small sculpture located in a nice little park by the peace bridge. It is a modest piece, but very symbolic. Hope for the future.

Well worth a stop off particularly to see the contribution made by the local children. The children are the future of the city rather than the bitterness of the past.
