Flew over to Belfast specially to visit this museum. So full of information and the staff are lovely and really helpful. Shop was full of things to buy and great militaria at a budget friendly price. Work was being done when we went with scaffolding but it was just as good as I think it would have been normally! They helped traced records of my relatives in the regiment and the information and artefacts themselves were really informative. The staff had 1-1 conversations and expanded on the information around. A small but brilliant place.

Recently moved to Bedford Street next to Ulster Hall. Once you find the door you have to ring the bell for #2. Hopefully once they are fully moved in it will be easier to find.
It's a very thorough, interesting and detailed museum. Only 2 rooms were open when we went because they had just moved but soon it will be a truly great museum!

A small museum dedicated to a regiment with a big history. Hidden behind an empty building in the Cathedral Quarter, this place is definitely worth a visit if you are interested in military history. From medals, uniforms and standards from the Peninsular Wars to regimental mascots and First World War Victoria Crosses, this museum is a treasure trove. My wife was particularly taken with Billy the former regimental mascot.

The gentleman who admitted us was also very friendly and approachable. A shame that is survives on donations from the public.

This is a very interesting regimental museum tucked away behind a building at 5 Waring Street Belfast --it would be easy to walk past without seeing the sign but is very close to the city centre. The museum has numerous displays showing the history of the regiment and service throughout the world including the world wars and Korean and right back to the 17th century. There is also a WW1 dugout display.
It is free but you can make a contribution but should appeal to adults, children and teenagers.
There is an unused guard sangar to the side of the building but do not be put off by this.
You can try on army helmets or pose with a deactivated machine gun if you wish.

I visited this delightful museum during a recent visit to Belfast. It's a small place, tucked away and a bit hard to find if you don't pay close attention to the signage. This gentleman who greeted me was a font of knowledge and more than willing to share what he knew. The exhibits are well curated and labeled.

Well worth a visit.

Visited yesterday on a wet and cold day. A real hidden gem. My grandfather was an officer in this regiment. Outstanding place and the people in it are so friendly and helpful. I recommend a visit here.
