Went here yesterday with my friend. Staff pleasant and helpful. Good choices on lunch menu. Very pleased with our choice. Had of course to finish off with pavlova which was disappointing compared to other eateries I have been to. Will return but will have different sweet.

We visited the Ormeau Golf Club's restaurant Fairy Tree Bistro recently for a family gathering. We had booked and pre ordered for 12 people. On the day, 2 members of our party could not make it due to illness. We informed the girl serving upon arriving and she assured it was no problem which was great. Service was a little slow (felt the food may have arrived a little quicker due to the pre order) but they were busy and the food was definitely worth the wait!! Huge portions, food piping hot, empty plates all round! Drinks were of a reasonable price compared to other establishments nearby. There was entertainment starting around 9.30pm, a singer. The music was well suited, appropriate and enjoyable for a wide range of ages. Maybe a little loud in parts if you are looking to hold a conversation. The menu here is dated; chicken curry, gammon & chips etc. The side salad is a mixed bowl of fresh leaves, an underripe tomato quarter, a heap of finely grated cheese, coleslaw along with pickled beetroot & onions. I would say that it is all freshly cooked & the ingredients are of good quality. They also offer smaller portion sizes of the mains, and the chips seem to be homemade. The restaurant although it looks recently refitted is also dated & dull. The large window overlooking the golf course is the hilight. I might return in the future but generally I found my visit uninspiring. …

8 of us (3 generations) went to the Ormeau Golf Club for a meal on a Sunday evening. It was an ideal location. Other families were there; the surroundings are pleasant and spacious; the menu is wide and varied, with a number of fusion dishes on offer, and children are well catered for. Service was a little slow, but the food was good, with very generous portions. The club restaurant welcomes non-members, and it proved to be a wonderful choice for a relaxed Sunday evening meal.…
