About
The SS Nomadic is known as Titanic's little sister. Built at the same time, by the same people, in the same Harland and Wolff shipyard as Titanic, Nomadic brought those boarding the great liner at Cherbourg to the ship. That was the start of an adventurous life, as she played a part in WW One and Two, carried many famous people to the great trans-Atlantic liners, became a floating restaurant in Paris and was saved from being scrapped by the people of Belfast. Now completely refurbished as a visitor attraction, you can walk in the footsteps of history, learn her story, and become part of the new chapter of her dramatic existence.

- Mary R13 contributionsNot exactly what I expected to seeNothing much to see. The ship had been used as a restaurant in France for years, and it now consists of only two floors of big halls with some benches. A few items and images are displayed. When we visited the deck was closed due to cold weather.Visited January 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 6, 2023
- Jeffry bEssendon, Australia13,811 contributionsLast of the great White Star shipsThe SS Nomadic was built in 1911 alongside its sister ship, the RMS Titanic. The Nomadic is east to see, near the Titanic museum. It's the last surviving ship of the once-mighty White Star Line, ruler of the seas. The Nomadic has been restored to its past glory, but it's a tad disappointing.Visited November 2022Written January 20, 2023
- Scott AEssex, United Kingdom46 contributionsNice little tourA Nice little self guided tour. We did this tour as an alternative to the Titanic museum as it was closed for refurbishment, so wasn’t expecting a huge amount but it was nice none the less. Good bit of history into the SS Nomadic.Visited February 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten February 19, 2023
- Jessica RDublin, Ireland18 contributionsThe best part of the tripThe Titanic museum was closed during our visit but we are so glad the Nomadic was open. It's the closest you can get to being on the Titanic. With it being the only remaining White Star line ship. I believe it's a good place for people of all ages with something for everyone. Might be able to see it in around an hours time. But If you are like me and walked around singing My heart will go on “…Near, far, wherever you are, I believe that the heart does go on…” You may need a little more time.Visited February 2023Written February 23, 2023
- Mark SWelwyn Garden City, United Kingdom11 contributionsSS Nomadic links to Titanic a greater tasterWe had an excellent visit to the SS Nomadic beautifully restored with good information about the history of the tender and its work in Cherbourg and connection with Titanic. All the staff very friendly and informative. Recommended part of the Titanic experience. Sadly the museum was closed for refurbishment during our visit so we will be back soon to include that on a future visit.Visited February 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten February 26, 2023
- Hei2005Yorkshire, United Kingdom186 contributionsMemorableFollowing a visit to the Titanic museum we visited The SS nomadic. It is a beautifully restored ship, the last remaining one from the White Star Line and beautifully preserved and looked after. We'll worth a visit.Visited March 2023Traveled with friendsWritten March 3, 2023
- GS7 contributionsSee this with the Titanic ExperienceWell worth a visit. Won't take long but helps fit Titanic into context. You can wander round and see the interior - plenty of information and things to see. Gives good understanding of the 1st Class / 2nd Class / Steerage divide!Visited April 2023Written April 10, 2023

- Laura TMiddlesbrough, United Kingdom6,983 contributionsAn unexpected highlight of our visit to Titanic Belfast - definitely don't miss and allow enough time to exploreI've reviewed Titanic Belfast separately, but wanted to leave a separate review for SS Nomadic as think it is worthy of being an attraction in its own right. Definitely worthwhile a visit of upto a couple of hours, so make sure you allow enough time to explore properly. The staff were so very friendly and helpful in telling us the stories of the ship and it was so interesting to explore. Walk the decks of the last remaining White Star Line vessel (SS Nomadic - the ship that ferried passengers to the Titanic) and see the different areas for the different classes of passengers and also the crew. Luckily the weather cleared up and we were able to go out onto the top deck too, which was great. I thought this would be just a very quick visit but we actually spent nearly 2 hours here! A visit to SS Nomadic was an unexpected highlight of our Titanic Belfast experience, it is docked just a couple of minutes walk away so be sure not to miss this!Visited July 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 8, 2023

This was the ship that ferried passengers to the Titanic in Cherbourg and is the last White Star Line ship afloat.
Right next to the museum, would highly recommend to visit! Staff is also super friendly, will answer questions and even helped me charge my phone when I forgot my charger - absolute legends!

After visited the Titanic museum, we went to have a look inside this ship. You can use the Titanic museum ticker. Interesting, not particularly intrigued after visited the Titanic museum but it's worth a look.

The entrance to this boat is covered through the admission ticket to the Titanic Museum. Although the boat’s interiors were reconstructed to the original decor, the boats involvement in historical events such as carrying Titanic passengers, carrying soldiers of World War 2, and the presence in France makes this a great attraction for history buffs!

We came to the SS Nomadic while waiting to enter the Titanic museum. Entry was included in the ticket price.
The ship was interesting and worth a visit. Interesting to learn the layouts, although that’s about all.

You can park in the titanic underground car park which is directly across from the Nomadic and costs £1.50 for the first hour and £1 per hour thereafter. There is also parking across the road (queens road) in the MET pay and display (not sure of cost) or at the Odyessy which is approx 5 minutes walk away on the Sydenham Road.

we arrive into BFS international airport on the morning of Thurs 26th Feb, will it be best to first go into the city centre and then from there get to SS Nomadic, could you tell me is there a bus from city centre, if yes, what number, where from, what is the price and how long does it take. Do we need to book in advance and what price is it for the SS Nomadic, thanking you Diane T

All answers above are spot on .The tourist office is your best bet to get up to speed on the sights of this city .
While in the area of SSNomadic just less than a quarter of a mile upthe same road ,nice easy walk , you can make a visit to T13 .This was one of the shipyards massive hangers ,used in it's day for much of the ship building that took place. Today it has many different uses, ironfit gym, skatepark, theatre productions , fashion shows ,music concerts, classes for kids in hip hop dancing and much much more, check out the T13 web site to see whats on. Whats good about this building is it still retains the atmosphere from days long gone , very different from any other tourist spot in belfast . This is as near you'll ever get to where the Titanic was built. Walk round this building ,check out the mega oil rig having a refit, don't be afraid to go into the hanger ,they are a friendly bunch . Enjoy your break
