Belfast Castle is a place where I have been to more than once, It is near where I live and I often bring friends here who are visiting the city. The garden has an interesting activity, which is find nine cats. One cat for each of the cats lives. These cats are garden stones, hedge and are in several other shapes and sizes. The castle is free. You can walk inside the castle (public area) and explore, there is also a small restaurant inside where you can get some food and drinks. The castle is often used for wedding venues, some parts inside may be closed to public visits.

We greatly enjoyed our visit of this quaint, picturesque castle. The indoors was very nice, as were the grounds outside. The kids also enjoyed the visit very much.

We drive here and the roads are clearly signed posted so easy to find. Free parking and the views of Belfast from the beautiful gardens was excellent. The garden’s are nice to walk around. Once inside the castle we were able to walk around freely. Only thing missing was someone to tell us the history of the castle. It may have been out of season or that we just missed finding anyone but still worth going to have a look at. We also had lunch in The underground cafe. Can highly recommend the seafood chowder.

A chef once said he picks a restaurant with a small menu because it means everything has been honed down. We arrived expecting to eat from the A La Carte menu to find only the Brunch menu was available. We were there for a birthday celebration and thought it was going to be a disaster.....the chef was right. We were a group of 6 and because of the narrow choice we all ordered the same starter and main. We all agreed it was the best soup and roast beef each of us had eaten...luckily there was dessert menu so we did have a choice. Again they exceeded expectation. I'm delighted that I don't have to travel to South Belfast to experience French Village
