All reviews west belfast political tour both sides peace wall ex political prisoner powerful experience these men present situation shankhill road second half first hand accounts their lives peace process eye opening personal insight thought provoking recent past
I truly brilliant 3 hours - with stories from both sides of the divide explaining what they did, why they did and what they have learnt. I learned more in 3 hours than i have in any previous tour.
The two was in 2 parts...More
Agree with other reviewer first 1/2 with Seamus excellent : interesting and informative irrespevtive of your viewpoint! Second 1/2 with Mark concentrated on Murals and dialogue very repetitive with no real history or sense of other viewpoint. Wanted to leave as nothing of value to...More
I thought that the first half of the tour was fascinating a)the tour guide is a former political prisoner b) history and lots of places where things actually happened.
Unfortunately, the second half was quite boring: a) the narrative was extremely repetitive, same sentences repeated...More
The idea is great, but the ex political prisoner spoke to non native audience with such an accent, that no body understood more than 45-50%.
Mark, the licensed guide was OK.
We, foreigners that visit Ireland expect to hear English, spoken clearly, not

Money well spent!..... probably the best thing to do in Belfast if you really want an insight of this formerly troubled city...... About 3 hours long, but most...More
There is no truth - only your truth or my truth. The "grey-ness" of history was made so visceral during this contrasting and conflicting tour of the Northern Ireland troubles. The tour led first by a former IRA member who talked us through the Troubles...More
Forget the black taxis. The only way to truly experience what happened during the Troubles in the streets of Belfast long ago is to walk the streets along with former political prisoners who were there. A big thank you to the two brave men who...More
This tour is outstanding, and I would highly recommend it. Since the guides have both been personally involved in the troubles, they each have captivating stories to tell of their own experiences. The first guide we met at Falls Road was in the IRA, and...More
The startling thing about this excellent tour is just how close the Falls and Shankill communities are to each other. Mark and Jack have lived through the worst of times and tell their stories with honesty and sensitivity. Highly recommended
