Situated in the lovely Salisbury Cathedral Close, Mompesson House is the size that you can actually imagine living in. Four or five rooms on the ground and first floors, each beautifully decorated as they would have been during the time of Queen Anne. One of...More

Not many rooms to see but the guides were helpful and knowledgeable. A nice place to spend a couple of hours.

Feels like a lived in house, it's not a stuffy museum you can easily imagine sitting in the comfy chairs and open a book. Lovely walled garden with a little courtyard cafe. You certainly wouldn't think you were in the center of the city. The...More

We visited this house after looking around the cathedral. The garden is fantastic and has a lovely small cafe under some wonderful hanging plants/ flowers. Very reasonable prices with homemade cake and biscuits. Would recommend.

Interesting contents with fine embroideries (stump work) which were explained by the very informative staff. There is also a special collection of glasses (ask the staff about them they make the collection very interesting) and the small garden is well designed and peaceful.

We are NT members so didn't have to pay the entrance fee. Just as well - not worth the money. You can view eight rooms, four up and four down. The house just isn't very interesting. The contents aren't original as the NT took over...More

Beautiful country house filled with antiques and restored to its former glory. Not worth the entrance fee as quite pricey for the size of the house, but good if you are a member of the National Trust.

A lovely house which used to be the Bishop's residence. A house in which I could easily live. A very peaceful garden and a view over the common which gave this house a great ambience.
