When spending time in the City, often prior to a theatre visit, we enjoying strolling around the Market area which has gradually been improved over time. Interesting shops, and on a sunny day, cafes to sit, drink coffee and enjoy the passing scene.

Very busy on the last day of may due to it being both staging and finishing area for a Cycle race. Still it looks great and would be even more pleasant to visit when not so crowded with Tents and Vehicles!

Salisbury still has a great street market full of atmosphere and well worth a visit. We visited at Christmas time so there was a lovely little extra part with artisan and craft stalls and even a choir.

Green grocery shocking standard in the market - last knockings from Friday's whole sale market in Southampton. Overpriced 'farmers' stalls. Mind you at least on market days there's something to look at in the ghastly new market square apart from the stalag type loos that...More
