A lovely Victorian bar not far from the Museum and Art Gallery. There was an impressive range of beer from all over the country. It was great to have well-informed bar staff, who were knowledgeable about the different beers on offer. We opted for a...More

I am sorry to hear the terrace was untidy, and will raise this issue. At present, the terrace is the only outdoor smoking area....as you will have noticed, being right in the centre of the city, all around are buildings, and we cannot change that!...More

Have been using The Wellington for a number of years now. They generally have about 16 guest beers, from light bitters to dark milds. Plenty of seating and 2 floors. They also sell a few lagers and ciders, but we don't go for them. All...More

Lots of choice here for ale. A wide but mostly fruity choice for cider. Nice little roof garden, which would be great if it was no smoking. Friendly staff. Good central location, especially if you are doing a real ale pub tour.

Our nights out nearly always end up in the Wellington. There is a huge choice even for non ale drinkers like myself. The best thing about this pub though is the atmosphere. We nearly always end up having great conversations with other drinkers here. All...More

A great pub with over a dozen real ales. Loads of seating and upstairs there's a roof top terrace. A huge long bar meant that the common problem of "bar hogs" sitting at the bar wasn't an issue. The beer we had was well kept...More
