I ove to pop in here to enjoy a pint of real cider. Its a very friendly place. The actual pub is a bit run down, a bit grubby. However this is not the reason people visit. Its for the great ales.

We must have walked past this hidden gem countless times but not any more! What a great find. Good selection of ales and a huge array of "rest of the world" bottled beers. Helpful and friendly staff. Yes, as the name says, it's a vault...More

Gaffer was half pissed. Woman at the bar hadn't a clue how to pull a pint. No sprinkler for flat out if condition beer. Come on you can do better than this

Went here as a recommendation from a friend. Will not be returning, the place is just not up to my personal standards of cleanliness and the bathroom was failing apart. I would understand if the cost of ale was low but the prices are high...More

....but a bit cramped due to full crowd, and with poor toilets. For a casual tourist or visitor, this is a good pop into for a choice of real ales and friendly atmosphere for an hour or so. Others will love to spend hours here....More

Popped in for a couple of pints at lunchtime. Despite there being only a few customers, the bar was clogged with "bar hogs" who have to sit at the bar :( Anyway, that aside, it's a characterful pub. The cask ales we had were excellent...More

Great place to stop by for a pint while on a tour or to hunker down and settle into for a couple of hours. The young'uns tend to do the former so there is definitely a certain age dynamic that are always sat down with...More
