This could be such a wonderful place but as with so many others the lack of care makes it disgraceful. Trash and drug use everywhere.

It's a shame that local residents do not use this place more often. It's a lovely nature reserve that is buzzing with wildlife. Our children grew up visiting Plantsbrook on a regular basis. The rangers would put special days on e.g. pond dipping, bird ringing and making nest boxes. Unfortnately due to Council cutbacks. It's rare that a ranger is there. Because of this i doesn't feel like a safe place to be unless your with a group.

When I lived near to here I used to enjoy cycling around the nature reserve. Today ( quite a few years later) I was shocked at how overgrown a lot of it was. Don't get me wrong, some money has been spent here judging by the decking path and handrails. The rails are handy because it was quite slippy in places despite the warm weather.
There's quite a lot of stinging nettles close to the pathways, so bear this in mind if wearing shorts and Tee shirts.
Worth a visit to appreciate the nature and tranquility.

Nice place to walk round, loved feeding the ducks. But there is so much litter around its a shame, empty lager cans floating in the water etc, could do with frequent litter picking.

Nice lake and ponds, but there didn't seem to be much in the way of bird life, perhaps I was just unlucky. The only non- bird wildlife I saw was a rat. A pleasant walk along the river from the Ramada to get there.
