I was very surprised to see this wide and ostentatious street in Bath. It was commissioned by Sir William Pluteney. He got it designed by Thomas Baldwin in 1789. It was built to connect the Pluteney Bridge with the Pluteney Estates. You can see Grand Georgian buildings encompassing this boulevard. There is a fountain here called Laura’s Place. You can also see the Grand Sydney hotel on this street.

Had a nice walk about here and seeing the building. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area. Just to see and wander about.

Loved walking down here spotting the bricked up window frames to save on daylight tax. Absolutely stunning architecture.

Great Pulteney Street is a beautiful, wide street, flanked by unspoilt (for the most part) Georgian architecture, the buildings being constructed of Bath stone, a lovely golden limestone that glows in the sunlight.
Great to take a slow walk looking upwards at the upper storeys of the buildings.

This is a beautiful street… the only thing missing is the cobble stone. One of the nicest examples of a 18th/19th century streets we have seen. This one is broad with wide sidewalks. Worth a look.

One of the nicest old streets I have seen. Really broad and stylish with fantastic architecture. Would like to arrive in a horse carriage and take in the history. GO and see.

We didn't walk the length of the street because we detoured to Henrietta Park. It is a majestic thoroughfare. One imagines what life was like back then. My favorite author is probably Georgette Heyer and I thought of her books as I spent time in Bath.

Beautiful area where I stayed in an AirBnB in a gorgeous Edwardian apartment. Clean streets and a lovely place for a stroll.
