A hidden gem...
Oct 2021
My family discovered this museum during a weekend stay at Ludlow and we were all very impressed with the varied and skilfully presented collection of artefacts spanning antiquity to the early 20th century, all of which are tastefully staged under sympathetic lighting with concise descriptions and tasteful graphics. As a keen numismatist, I was particularly spellbound by the hoard of gleaming English Civil War coins in a mint state of preservation. The lady curator is a very knowledgeable and personable host who explained the background of the exhibits and answered a multitude of questions. What a rewarding way to spend a few hours while exploring this picturesque and historic town!

A nice little museum giving a taste of the local history. Currently free entry although they encourage donations. I’d have given more if they accepted debit/credit cards.

Delightful little museum housed in a beautiful building with a stunning view. Thoughtful exhibits tell just a tiny slice of Ludlows history. Adults and children alike can happily while away some time here. Don't miss it.

Capsule of local history
Aug 2021 • Family
Hidden gem, even though it's in the heart of Ludlow. Set in a couple of upstairs rooms overlooking one of the main streets of Ludlow. Gives a very detailed display of the changing town over the centuries: from medieval to the 19th century. A clear explanation of the industries of the town and the buildings that can be seen today, the structure the shape of the town centre. All for free, though donations are warmly received. Well worth a visit.

SMALL BUT INTERESTING
Oct 2019
I had a bit of time to kill, so I ventured into this quaint little museum!
£1 entry fee was a bargain, and the member of staff I got talking to was very knowledgeable.
Some interesting artefacts on display, so well worth popping in for a hour.

Worth A Visit

A nice way to spend an hour or so to learn about the history of Ludlow and worth the low cost £1 admission charge.

Small
Sep 2019
It's a very small museum which tries to spread itself over a long time period of the town's history. In consequence, it is only able to give a little information about any period. That said, it was worth a visit, all be it a short one.

Dead, in the dead center of town.

Waste of time. It's to small to temp telling the history of Ludlow. It misses the most important parts of the history of the town. Best part is the Georgian building itself.

Need more photos!

As a visitor to Ludlow I would have loved to have seen more photos of all the streets from years ago, and more information of the Georgian period rather than archaeology.
