Great place for walks and picnics, we have been many times and taken our dogs as well. Quite a long walk to go all the way around, take water if it's hot!

Popped in here when passing one day and decided to have a leisurely stroll round the reservoir. Very deceptive as over 2 hours later, we arrived back where we started. Admittedly we weren't walking too fast but we should have realised we had a trek...More

Plenty of cheap parking and reasonable paths even in winter.. Not a lot of birds about on the day we visited but very nice to stroll around for a short walk

Although you have to pay £3 for parking the area is still a good meeting place for. Dog walk with friends. There is a variety of woodland, fields, water side. Can be a bit muddy but stick to the pathways and it’s not too bad,...More

Had a lovely walk around part of the reservoir and then was able to access Brixworth Country Park where I was able to let the dogs off lead. At the park there were dining and toilet facilities and a play area for children and also...More

Quite a pleasant walk around the reservoir. Pretty muddy in parts as expected given the weather of late. There seems to be plenty of activities, particularly noted lots of muddy bikes and happy kids! Clearly a popular place and I imagine quite busy in better...More

Great outdoor activity area. Paved cycle, walking, jogging path all way round the reservoir. Good cafe/restaurant/shop. Cycle hire facility. Great for family outdoor activities as well as ardent keep fit enthusiasts.

There are designated areas for BBQs I think (near the carpark in the casueway carpark end is one that I noticed). The carparks do have a closing time, but you can walk or cycle around the reservoir any time. Hope this helps.

You can take a buggy round. The paths are pretty firm so shouldn't be an issue.
