We were very fortunate to get entry tickets to the &pm Christmas Eve Mass that replaced the Midnight Mass due to Covid restrictions. The service was beautiful and very moving. The Minster is a truly wonderful building with so much history embedded in her walls and atmosphere. A must place to visit even though I do think the £12.50 entrance fee for a normal visit is way too excessive.…

We visited this beautiful building with our three children, the tour guides were amazing with them , each spending so much time in the different areas going through the history in a way that made it fun for them. A huge thank you to everyone who was there on the 28th Dec. The windows and architecture are a sight to behold , an absolute must to see whilst visiting York. …

I visited here during Advent 2020 while York was under Tier 2 restrictions. Bookings have to be made on-line and in advance. I booked mine on my smartphone just 20 minutes before I turned up and had no problem gaining entry. The Minster itself is spectacular and although there is currently some restoration work going on, it didn’t distract from the sheer magnificence of the cathedral. With hindsight, I probably couldn’t have picked a better time to visit as there were no crowds and the knowledgeable and informative guides had time to explain the significance of what I was looking at. One of Great Britain’s most splendid and historic buildings with no crowds. What’s not to like? Highly recommended.…
