The village is beautiful, and the many little shops are perfect for a lazy day exploring Robin Hood's Bay. The local museum deserves a special mention; the lady on duty was friendly and welcoming, with a plethora of knowledge regarding the history of the area.

Not for the feinthearted as was an extremely steep walk down and an even steeper walk up!
But well worth it for the view, very picturesque with windey roads, oldey worldly shops and houses.
Very friendly place, but very commercialed.

Access via a steep road to the small village and onto the beach. Not the sort of place to go for miles of golden sand, but excellent for a few hours of rock pooling with the kids. Hermit crabs are the specialty here - the kids loved it.

It's a nice enough beach, I guess, but the parking is a joke (and overpriced). ANyone with difficulty walking should be aware it's a STEEP slope down to the beach.

This little museum was a great find and passed a good hour. Only three rooms but loads of history and lovely things to see.
Entry is by donation.
The children get a quiz to do and can win either a pencil or lolly pop for completing it.
My grandaughter was really engaged with this and spent some time finding the clues and answers. A good way to learn as she's still able to answer the questions now.
Plenty of exhibits to keep the children interested as well as the adults.
The curator was very knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions. The two young girls who were helping out behind the counter were extremely polite and friendly. Keep it up girls!
Thank you to the museum staff for a lovely hour or so.
Hope to visit again and do the quiz.

Robin Hood's Bay is just a pretty(ish) bay and rocky. It's at the bottom of a very steep hill (no chance with a wheelchair!) and a very narrow road to the bottom of the hill and absolutely nowhere to park at the bottom of the hill and the 2 car parks at the top of the hill fill up very quickly in the mornings with walkers. The bay does have holiday cottages and a pub or 2 and shops, but where would you park?

Great short walk to Boggle Hole along the beach (only when tide is out) to the YHA cafe. Large sandy and rocky beach with fantastic views and pretty town.

Well, having wanted to visit here whilst we were in the area, we were looking forward to it. The steep walk down tested your leg muscles but after some liquid refreshment at the pub by the shore it prepared you for the walk back. And what a testing walk back up the hill but nevertheless it was well worth it.

Finding this place is easy but actually getting to it is a little harder. Returning to the car is even harder as you end up at the bottom of a steep hill. Still there is a pub there to help with a drink. As it's the end of the coast to coast walk you may as we did get to see walkers celebrating on the beach.

We visited on the way back from RSPB Bempton rocks at Filey.
We parked at the top of the village for £2 for an hour and wandered through the streets to the bay some beautiful old fishermans cottages and cobbled streets viewing areas and cafes.
