The Notting Hill Carnival is centred around a huge parade that makes its way through the Notting Hill area of London every August Bank Holiday weekend. The carnival is a big celebration of Caribbean culture, where people dress up in traditional carnival costumes and dance to the beats of the drums and the speakers that line the route. It’s a mostly free event, where you can follow the crowd and enjoy the traditional Caribbean fare from the pop-up street sellers on the side of the road, as well as a few rum cocktails!

We were staying on Piccadilly, so we walked from our hotel, to Notting Hill across Hyde Park, which was nice in the sunny weather. We went early-ish on Monday, tried some food truck grub which was ok. We watched, drank and danced at a quieter...More

If you are born and raised in london you'll get it..if your not then don't get so mad about it! It's loud, crowed and alot of alcohol involved. If you don't like these things don't go! If your open minded and don't care about other...More

Our Monday visit - we went early afternoon and left at dusk. We wanted to see the street parades and floats. We parked at Westfield London which was £7 all day a bit of a bargain for London! We asked a Policeman at Shepherds Bush...More

it's certainly not a family event on a monday ! way too many drugs visible and alcohol was a problem ... kids were not comfortable with it ... but certainly an 'experience'

I have loved attending the Notting Hill Carnival the two times I have been. The carnival could do with a little more organisation and regulations around having any glass beers or glasses, because revelers tend to litter and the risk of getting injured by shards...More

Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods
cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience.
Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged
between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the
southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of
Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as
pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The
bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it
