This will always be my favourite food market in London.
The variety of food, ambience, and lovely people make this place simply awesome.
I've been coming for over 10 years and never disappointed.

We were staying just around the corner and hoped to squeeze Borough Market in but as we were short on time came here instead. Partly tempted by the photos of the steak and chips from The Beefsteaks’ Insta. It didn’t disappoint. I had my young children with me and it was perfect for us to wander, nibble and soak in the atmosphere. Took our food into the wine bar that welcomes you to eat any of your yummy buys in there over a glass (or two!) of their beautiful wine. Really nice people everywhere we went and delicious food. Look forward to visiting again…and may now leave Borough to the hoards! We stayed at the Premier Inn Tower Bridge which is just a three minute walk from here. Go, eat and enjoy!

We visited Maltby Street Market while we were in the area. The market is set up along Ropewalk under the arches of the main railway line on the approaches into London Bridge. There was a huge variety of food stalls, restaurants and bars. There is a great vibe to the place with delicious aromas from the stalls hanging in the air. We stopped off at one of the outlets for empanadas, it was one of the many stalls with freshly prepared and reasonably priced treats. It was very quiet when we visited but it was nice to be able to enjoy the market without the crowds.

The Maltby Street Market has a great vibe, a fantastic selection of food.
Make sure you arrive hungry!
A few highlights for me: Venezuelan La Pepia and Amen Ethiopian (they put love and passion into their food). I also have tried Beef Steaks, their chimichurri sauce is fantastic; unfortunately, their sliced beef is far too chewy, I could not eat it. I would have preferred less of a portion and better quality meat. They source their meat from grass fed British cows, which is fantastic...sad that the meat was so very tough. Their tripled cooked chips were very good.

An interesting mix of street food, some restaurants and a few drinking places. Much less rammed that the much bigger Borough market, much easier to find a seat and have a beer.
Worth a visit.

Love this market! Way better than Borough Market which has really extended its welcome. Tried the Ethiopian food stall and was pleasantly surprised. Amazing food and plenty of vegan options. There are toilets at this market as well.
Would love to go again and wish they were open more days of the week.

This small foodie market practically on Southwark/Bermondsey boundary is well worth a visit. Think it’s only there ( or most of it) Sat/Sun and it is rather small - much larger Borough Market 15 min walk away - but a variety of good-looking street food available plus inside areas too.
Good addition to the area though bear in mind this is London with London prices if you’re on some sort of budget.

I gave three stars because my expectations were underwhelmed. I read somewhere that in addition to food vendors, there were also antique vendors as well; there were none.
The market was crowded with a wide selection of ethnic foods. So, the market seemed good, but again, my expectations were not met.

We just dropped in as we’d heard good things about this market. We’re so pleased we did. Great food and lovely community of traders and local customers. The real deal. We will come again. X

London Bridge or Tower Hill, then a short walk. Not very short, but easily manageable!

Hi, I'm not really sure. Try googling it in about four weeks time. You might also want to look and see if there is a website for the Ropewalk which is the alternative name for this market. I hope that's of help.
