Kings Rd used to be the centre of fashion. But high rents have squeezed out the creatives, and only the large retail outlets remain. Kings Rd itself has become quite dangerous, with constant traffic, and angry motorists endangering cyclists and pedestrians. The ambience of Kings Rd has been reduced to the ambience of a traffic jam full of angry people - hardly worth visiting. Women walking along Kings rd, look poker faced and either hostile or depressed - having put their finest clothes on only to be eclipsed by the constant deluge of traffic. Councils should be encouraging creative new businesses instead of hiking rents so high that only giant retail outlets can afford them. In summary, Kings Rd is no longer the centre of fashion. The greed of landlords and Councils has driven away creatives, and the road is simply a money grinding machine. The complete absence of town planning has resulted in traffic deluging the area and destroying any remnants of peace or tranquility - the constant noise, and smell of exhaust making the ambience stressful, hostile to cyclists and too dangerous for pedestrians crossing the road.…
