It's just a great pub!

When ever I'm in Leicester, I alway pop to the barley mow for a drink, and end up having to stagger home. Despite covid restrictions, they've managed to keep the pub running really well. The girls working there could not be faulted, always checking if you need anything.

The Barley Mow is a great bar not far from the station. It has a superb array of real ales and lagers. The bar staff are efficient and friendly. Can’t find fault at all.

Came to Leicester for by football, because the Wetherspoon's had shut down, went into this place. Great bar staff very friendly and quick to serve as well. Sky and BT sport both on and a good selection of drinks also. Good boozer for an away game. Home and away fan's mix with no bother. Top pub

Stopped off here on the way to the rugby. Service was prompt and efficient despite the place being inevitably very busy on match day. Prices are high but there are plenty of screens dotted around showing Sky Sports.

Visited over a Friday and Saturday while attending the Wishbone Ash gig at The Y Theatre and I had a great time here. Met with friends from around the world and the general consensus was very positive. Great beers and friendly staff. Only food on sale are Cobs (sandwiches) but if are looking for food there are many other eateries around. I will certainly recommend the Barley Mow.

Fantastic Pub
Sep 2018 • Friends
A friend and I visited The Barley Mow on Saturday the 8th of September, we popped in just for a couple of pints before we made our way the the Leicester Tigers vs Newcastle Falcons match, we were so impressed by the place and it’s very friendly staff and atmos that we returned in the evening, there was a karaoke on that night and once again the atmos was tremendous, not a hint of trouble or a feeling of being a couple of outsiders, infact the next morning as we were walking around the city I heard someone calling my name and waving at me, I thought, who on earth knows me in Leicester? Low and behold it was the bloke running the karaoke the night before, then as we walked past the pub we were on the opposite side of the road we heard two lads shouting, alright lads? And it was the two barmen from the night before, it was a tremendous experience and one I will be repeating when I go back, they’ve always got some kind of entertainment go on, we didn’t get to sample the food apart from a couple or rolls they were serving but these were very tasty, if you are ever in Leicester you must go, you won’t be disappointed, well done to management and all staff I was a great experience, I thoroughly recommend it.

This is a most pleasant and friendly hostelry which actually welcomes parents with young children as well as couples or individuals.
It offers a varied menu at very attractive prices. Many standard pub meals for under £10.
